Wind energy is growing rural prosperity across the Midwest. As these turbines get built, they generate millions in tax revenue that can support good-paying local jobs and fund local schools, roads, and first responders. Wind power also provides stable, drought-proof income for landowners who choose to lease their land.

While wind and solar produce affordable energy, the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't always blow in the same place 24 hours a day. But somewhere, they are. The challenge isn't generating enough clean energy—it's making sure we can use it when and where it's needed. That's where energy storage comes in.
Think of energy storage like a savings account for electricity. It allows us to store low-cost clean power and use it during high-demand periods when electricity is most expensive.

Modern transmission lines are the key to lower energy costs and a stronger, more reliable power grid. These lines move electricity across long distances, and they power more than just homes and businesses—they power economic opportunity.
By moving energy around where and when it's needed most, transmission lines avoid price spikes during periods of high demand, saving Illinoisans money. These projects also create local jobs in construction and operations, supporting families and boosting local economies right here in Illinois. Many of the transmission lines we rely on today were built around the 1950's. Our electric grid is aging and that becomes more evident when storms, heat waves, and other extreme weather causes outages. Building and updating these lines will help keep your power on, even when part of the grid goes down. Newer, stronger transmission lines can move energy around where and when it is most needed, helping Illinoisans save money during high-demand periods price spikes
